2377-22 Basic Portable Appliance Testing
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is an important job and must be carried out correctly. This role must be performed by a person who is competent to do so - historically PAT testing was carried out only by those with formal electrical training and because of this City & Guilds 2377 course assumes those attending have prior electrical knowledge.

Increasingly those carrying out PAT testing are not trained formally in electrical work and may be for example Caretakers or Office staff.
